Two Russian Death in Odisha: The Russian Embassy on Tuesday (December 27) said that there is no investigation by the state police into the deaths of two Russian nationals, MPs Pavel Antov and Vladimir Bidenov, who died in a hotel within a few days of each other in Odisha’s Raigad district. The criminal aspect has not come to the fore.

In the case of the death of two Russian citizens in Odisha, ‘Russia Today’ has written quoting the Russian Embassy, ​​”The Russian Consul General in Kolkata is in touch with the local authorities regarding the matter. As per the information available with the police, there is no criminal aspect in this.

One of the Russian citizens who died is Pavel Antov, an MP from the Vladimir region, located about 200 kilometers from Moscow, and an opponent of President Vladimir Putin. He had recently criticized Vladimir Putin regarding the Russia-Ukraine war.

Investigation handed over to CID

Odisha’s DGP Sunil Kumar Bansal has ordered the CID-Crime Branch to investigate the entire matter on Tuesday (December 27). This information was given by the Twitter handle of Odisha Police.

What did the Odisha Police say?

According to media reports, Antonov (65), the founder of the ‘Vladimir Meat Processing Plant’, was one of Russia’s richest parliamentarians. His body was found soaked in blood outside a hotel in Raigad on Saturday.

Odisha Police said that the body of Vladimir Bidenov, the passenger accompanying Antonov, was also found from the same hotel on 22 December. He was found unconscious in the room located on the first floor of the hotel and there were some empty liquor bottles around him. Both Bidenov and Antonov were part of a group of four Russian tourists and all along with their guide Jitendra Singh stayed at a hotel in Raigarh since 21 December.
